Abstract
This paper examines the use of Generalised Assignment method (GAM) and Extended Conjugate Gradient Method (ECGM) in managing dynamic storage allocation in distributed database systems. It views different nodes storage capacities with arbitrary host memory capacities and generates remarks. This paper concludes that ECGM is more efficient than refined GAM = Surrogate Relaxation Method (SRM) as an optimization technique in managing dynamic storage allocation in distributed database systems.
