SCIENCE STUDENTS PERCEPTION OF THEIR OWN WRITTEN ENGLISH COMMUNICATIVE NEEDS

Abstract

This paper is a survey of the English language written communication needs of sciences students from their own perception. Two Federal University of Agriculture were studied in which a questionnaire was administered, a research question answered and a null hypothesis tested and analysed. Findings established the crucial importance of writing skills for students of Agriculture studying various sciences courses and recommend language programming and teaching strategies that focus on writing skills as found in the students’ needs.
